PETG is a transparent non-crystalline copolyester. As the CHDM in the copolymer increases, the melting point decreases, the glass transition temperature increases, and the crystallinity decreases, and finally an amorphous polymer is formed.
Generally, the content of CHDM in PETG is 30%-40%. It has good viscosity, transparency, color, chemical resistance, and resistance to stress whitening. It can be thermoformed or extrusion blow molded very quickly. The viscosity is better than acrylic (acrylic).
PETG products are highly transparent and have excellent impact resistance. They are especially suitable for forming thick-walled transparent products. They have excellent processing and molding performance. They can be designed in any shape according to the designer's intention. Traditional extrusion, injection, blow molding and blister can be used. Such molding methods are widely used in the market of sheet materials, high-performance shrink films, bottles and profiled materials. At the same time, it has excellent secondary processing performance and can be modified by conventional machining. The allowable range of PETG injection molding process conditions is wider than that of PET, and it has the comprehensive characteristics of transparency, high strength, and high toughness.
Typical applications of PETG materials include:
1. Medical equipment (test tubes, reagent bottles, etc.);
2. Cosmetic packaging materials (such as perfume caps, lipstick tubes, cream containers, cosmetic boxes, deodorant packaging, talcum powder bottles, eyeliner pen sets and other products);
3. Toys, monitors, light source housings, protective masks, refrigerator fresh-keeping trays, etc.
